"I want to become a Brownie at 1st Feniton Brownies."

When you join 1st Feniton Brownies, you will become part of a Six, a small group of girls called Gnomes, Pixies, Imps or Leprechauns. They will look after you and help you get to know what Brownies do.

During your first few meetings, you will receive your 'Bring on the Brownies' book which will tell you all about us and help you learn your Brownie Promise and Law.

The promise and the law are very important to us. Our promise links us to other Girlguiding members and the 10 million people involved in guiding across the world. Although we may have different languages, cultures and beliefs, each member makes a commitment to do her best.

Watch this video to discover why we make a promise:

When you are ready, you will be asked to attend a promise ceremony, where you will make your Promise and Law, becoming an official Brownie Guide! During this ceremony, you will receive your promise badge, lots of badges, our special neckerchief, a certificate and your Brownie Badge Book.

During this ceremony you will wear your Brownie uniform. To find out what you can wear, click here: Home | Official Girlguiding shop

"Girls in Brownies have incredible experiences together, make brilliant friends and discover the world around them. Every time they meet up, groups of Brownies learn new skills and take on challenges as they work out what they want to be and do in the future."

Girlguiding UK, All About Brownies

So what do we do?

Brownies is about getting together regularly - often each week - to work on badges, learn new skills, play games and see friends. It's about trying adventurous activities and going along to special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays.

At 1st Feniton Brownies, we do all sorts of things. We like to go on treasure hunts, cook on fires, explore the woods, and have lots of fun outdoors.

Also we love painting, baking, learning new crafts and playing games. Recently, we have enjoyed visiting the Norman Lockyer Observatory, going to the cinema, connecting with Guiding friends in Canada and exploring Hembury Fort. As well as the fun activities, we also recently raised over £700 for the Exeter R, D & E Children's Ward.

Every summer season we go on a day trip and enjoy going on pack holiday.

"At Feniton Guides I can relax and be myself."

When you join 1st Feniton Guides, you will become part of a Patrol, a small group of girls. . They will look after you and help you get to know what Guides do.

During your first few meetings, you will receive your 'Go Guide' handbook which will tell you all about us and help you learn your Guide Promise and Law.

So what do we do?

Guides is about getting together regularly - often each week - to work on badges, learn new skills, play games and see friends. It's about trying adventurous activities and going along to special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays.

At 1st Feniton Guides, we do all sorts of things. We love a pamper night, baking, cooking on fires, building shelters, water fights and lots more.

Also we love learning new crafts and playing games. Recently, we really enjoyed going to Girlguiding UK's festival, Wellies and Wristbands, yoga, testing local chip shops and a film night.

Every year we try to go away together, most recently on Dartmoor to enjoy abseiling and a mocktail party.
